Bronchitis

Inflammation of the bronchus or the bronchioles due to various reasons is known as Bronchitis. The trachea may or may not be infected by Bronchitis. Weakness of the chest and lungs, hereditary issues, fatigue, exposure to cold, cigarette smoking are some of the leading causes of chronic bronchitis. The major symptoms are congestion in the chest, difficulty in breathing, body ache and high temperature of about 100⁰F to 103⁰F. The sputum becomes mucoid and frothy. Immediate cessation of smoking and removal of environmental irritants is done to prevent further infection. Use of broncho dilators and oxygen therapy controls the disease.
